Bregman이 지난 7월에 캘리포니아에 도착한 이후로 그는 아주 단순한 한 가지 이유로 Lancaster HetHawks의 타격코치 Darryl Robinson과 친밀해졌다.

Astros의 탑 유망주인 Bregman은 Lake Elsinore와의 플레이오프에서 16-4로 이겼던 날에 3루타와 득점을 기록하는 등 프로에서의 첫 4안타경기를 만들어내며 대단한 8월달을 지속하고 있다.

"그는 학생과 같은 자세로 경기를 소화합니다," Robinson씨가 말했다. "그는 많은 것들을 알아내고 싶어해요. 그가 해왔던 모든 대단한 일들과  그가 던졌던 질문들 그리고 그가 그것들을 이해하기 위해 시도했던 방법들에 대해서 그를 인정해야 합니다. 그리고 그는 그것들을 해냈어요."

스물 한 살에 불과한 이 유격수는 자신의 커리어 최장 연속경기안타 기록을 14경기까지 늘렸다. 그는 이 기간에 .424(59타수 25안타)의 타율을 기록하며 자신의 슬래쉬 라인을 .336/.380/.492까지 끌어올렸다.

On Friday, Bregman picked the right pitches to swing at more often than not. The LSU product ripped an RBI triple to center field in the second inning before singling to center in the third, to right in the seventh and left in the eighth.

"Just being able to make the adjustments that he's making at such a quick pace, his swing is not where it's going to be," Robinson said. "There are some things he needs to work on, but we'll get that figured out as we go along or during the offseason. There are some things that he's got to work on because it's not going to carry him all the way, but the way he goes about his business is a big plus to him. That's why he's been successful, because he works and he understands what he needs to do."

Everyone else in the Lancaster lineup enjoyed Friday night as well. The JetHawks pounded out 19 hits, with at least one for every starter. Astros No. 12 prospect J.D. Davis and Chase McDonald cranked their 23rd and 28th homers, respectively, while James Ramsay and No. 8 prospect Derek Fisher each drove in three runs.

Trailing first-place High Desert by three games in the South Division second-half race, Lancaster is still 10 games clear of Inland Empire for the Wild Card. On Friday, the celebration was on after securing another postseason trip.

"They're having a real good time right now," Robinson said of his offense, which boasts a league-best .291 average. "It all starts with the way we work. We hit off the fastball machine or we do various drills or we do short pitch. It's all about hitting the fastball and we're looking to do damage on the fastball. That's the focus. That's what they're looking for.

"We're looking to do damage."
